Main features

  • Dimension – The containers can be built with dimensions complying with ISO 668 regulations (codifying dimensions of standard shipping containers) or they can have special dimensions, according to the size of the equipment to be installed or complying with Customer’s specifications (containers have been manufactured for gen-sets with very big dimensions, up to 6000 kVA).

  • CSC certification – On request, 20ft, 30ft and 40ft containers can be supplied with CSC certificate, making them accepted and handled by forwarders as containers. Without the CSC certificate, forwarders handle the containers as boxes, raising prices consequently.

  • Soundproofing – The standard residual noise level of SITAL products is 75 dB(A) at 7 m of distance in free field. Other products are also available with better soundproofing: 65 dB(A) at 7 m and 55 dB(A) at 7 m (super sound-attenuated). A lower level of residual noise with better soundproofing can be achieved, but projects shall undergo a preliminary study of feasibility first.

Feasibility study and internal/external layout – Both the internal and external configuration of the container are studied each time according to Customer’s needs. Upon issuing the quotation, SITAL already produces a feasibility study with a preliminary drawing based on Customer’s information and data, outlining the following elements:

  • Position of the equipment inside the container
  • Quantity and position of doors
  • Dimensions and position of openings for air inlet/outlet
  • Dimensions and position of internal separating walls, used to create separate rooms for electrical cabinets and other accessories.
  • Quantity and position of technical passages

Construction details

  • Painting – Painting is one of the strengths of SITAL production. In fact, the company has automatic systems for both sandblasting and painting. It is possible to choose between:
  • Five standard cycles to select according to the different environmental conditions of use
  • Special cycles and polychromatic cycles for military containers
  • Offshore cycles in accordance with the ISO 12944-5: 1998 standard
  • Cycles in accordance with the end customer’s specifications.
  • Exhaust gas silencer – The exhaust gas silencers installed in the containers are manufactured directly by SITAL: this guarantees the silencers to be built in the best configuration possible (minimum space occupied inside the container and noise abatement suitable to reach the overall residual noise level requested by the project).

In order to deliver the most compact solution, exhaust gas silencers are usually fitted inside the containers. Only when no other solution is possible, silencers are mounted externally, on the container roof. In particular cases, when the space inside the container is limited but the project requires an indoor installation, special silencers are manufactured: they have a parallelepiped shape (instead of cylindrical), adjusting to the available space.

  • Technical passages – All technical passages are sized and protected according to the specific needs of the Customer. Our supply includes:
  • Sleeves for the passage of fuel pipes or cooling water pipes
  • Niches for sleeves of fuel feeding, emergency stop push button, fire fighting central unit, etc.
  • Cable entry/exit protected by aluminium plates to be drilled on site, or by MCT (optional)
