Main features
- Dimension – The containers can be built with dimensions complying with ISO 668 regulations (codifying dimensions of standard shipping containers) or they can have special dimensions, according to the size of the equipment to be installed or complying with Customer’s specifications.
- CSC certification – On request, 20ft, 30ft and 40ft containers can be supplied with CSC certificate, making them accepted and handled by forwarders as containers. Without the CSC certificate, forwarders handle the containers as boxes, raising prices consequently.
- Feasibility study and internal/external layout – Both the internal and external configuration of the container are studied each time according to Customer’s needs. Upon issuing the quotation, SITAL already produces a feasibility study with a preliminary drawing based on Customer’s information and data, outlining the following elements:
Construction details:
- Painting – Painting is one of the strengths of SITAL production. In fact, the company has automatic systems for both sandblasting and painting. It is possible to choose between:
- Technical passages – All technical passages are sized and protected according to the specific needs of the Customer. Our supply includes:
- Available accessories – The SITAL offer can be limited to the supply of the Containers only or can be extended to the complete package, up to include all the systems: lighting, Fire & Gas, HVAC, electrical connections etc.
Containers Type 1 and Type 2
SITAL has developed two different constructive typology: the containers TYPE 1 and the containers TYPE 2.
Container di TYPE 1 (max strength)
They are called “double skin” containers; they are made of external corrugated steel sheet and they are thermally insulated with industrial “sandwich” panels made of rock wool or expanded polyurethane and clad with pre-painted galvanized steel sheet. They are the best solution for installations requiring a high structural solidity.
Container di TYPE 2 (light version)
Side walls are made of adjoined industrial “sandwich” panels, which are demountable one by one. TYPE 2 differs from TYPE 1 because corrugated steel sheet is not used, leaving the panels visible from outside. Exception is made for the roof, which is actually made of corrugated steel sheet in order to prevent rain infiltration. However, water-tightness is guaranteed through time for the whole container Side walls are made of adjoined industrial “sandwich” panels, which are demountable one by one. Containers for photovoltaic plants
Containerized transformer substation for photovoltaic plants
A particularly suitable use for type 2 containers is in the context of the photovoltaic systems, to house inverter panels transformer and storage batteries.
Another frequent use is found in the field of biogas plants for housing the digestate pumping system and its control room.
Optional variants
Adjoined containers
When max. internal space is required, two or more containers can be adjoined by removing a wall or part of it. In this way much bigger enclosures can be obtained starting from modules with standard dimensions or with smaller dimensions, anyway.
Drop over containers
Here the base is separated from the rest of the container (roof and side walls), to which it gets bolted. This option is chosen for an easier installation of all the equipment directly on the base, using all the space needed in order to complete the installation in the easiest way possible, without the obstacle of walls and roof.
The base supply is optional. Customer’s base can be used provided that it has fixing points for the connection of the container to the base; alternatively, SITAL can engineer and supply a suitable base according to the Customer’s requests.
Expandable mobile containers
They are characterized by two different configurations: transport configuration and operational configuration. In the first case, the container has dimensions compliant with normal transport containers or in any case not prejudicing the possibility of handling by road, without the need for permits for exceptional transport. In operational position, thanks to the possibility of expanding the width of the container, the same, by means of the hydraulically operated system shown in the photos on the side, increases its volume up to almost double the initial one, allowing the added space to be used to access and operate on the equipment installed from inside the container.
They are normally used for the construction of mobile electrical substations, but other types of uses are also thinkable, based on the different needs of Customers.
